Provincetown’s « Monumental » Yard Sale Adds to Special Anniversary Weekend
Three Days of Treasure Hunting and the 10th Anniversary of Marriage Equality Highlight diverse personality of America’s First Destination
An event that began 14 years ago as a small gathering for stores to liquidate last year’s merchandise has expanded to a town-wide sprawl, where vintage clothes and bric-a-brac find themselves on display alongside outrageous finds, antiques, and the bizarre – all combined with terrific bargains on new merchandise.
Free to the public, The Monumental Yard Sale is organized by the Provincetown Business Guild and has become such a success it is put on twice a year, once during the spring and again in the fall, October 13-16.
For more information on the weekend’s events, visit the Provincetown Business Guild (PBG) website. To have your Residential or Commercial Yard Sale included in the list of participants on the web Contact the PBG office at 508-487-2313.
May 17, 2014 officially marks ten years of marriage equality, and Provincetown will be celebrating throughout the weekend, adding to the appeal of visiting this seaside destination before the summer fun heats up. LGBT couples the world over will be in Ptown to commemorate such an auspicious anniversary.
It’s also a good time to start locking in plans for a relaxing getaway from Memorial Day Weekend – and where better than Ptown, which in the past year has received a trove of accolades, including top-ten best small towns in America (Smithsonian Magazine; Fodor’s Travel, Fox News); top romantic destinations (Travel +Leisure); top-twelve gay honeymoon destinations (Business Insider); Happiest Coastal Town (Coastal Living) and more!
The beautiful beaches are open for business and the town’s terrific shops, galleries, restaurants, clubs and accommodations offer a much needed respite from the hectic days of spring.
