Vote for Provincetown
Coastal Living Magazine names America’s First Destination among the best places to live on the coast, asks readers to vote for top spot Provincetown has been rated one of the ten happiest seaside towns in America by Costal Living magazine, which recently posted its annual list of the best places to live on the coast. To vote for Provincetown as the winner among the ten finalists, visit http://goo.gl/sw5kIy before March 31, 2014.
« The secret is out, » said Anthony Fuccillo, Provinctown’s Director of Tourism. « As towns across America start to look more and more alike, Provincetown has retained its unique personality and world-class seaside charm. The Pilgrims first landed in the New World here almost 400 years ago, and they signed the Mayflower Compact in what is now our town’s harbor. That streak of independence remains a beacon for people looking for an authentic, welcoming place to visit, » said Fuccillo. Coastal Living chose its group of finalists by looking at every place it has called a « Dream Town » over the past 15 years, and it also considered reader nominations, too. From there, it looked at the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, percentage of clear and sunny days, healthiness of beaches, commute times, walkability, crime ratings, standard of living and financial well being of the locals, geographic diversity, and editors’ assessment of each town’s « coastal vibe. » Other contenders alongside Provincetown include St. Augustine, FL, and Haleiwa, HI. The honor of being named one of the best coastal places to live in 2014 follows a long list of accolades bestowed on Ptown in 2013. Fodor’s Travel, Smithsonian Magazine and others named this haven at the tip of Cape Cod one of America’s 10 Best Small Towns to visit, and Travel and Leisure just called Ptown one of ‘America’s Most Romantic’ destinations.
