Those Autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips those summer kisses… »

Thats what was buzzing around my in brainas I tooled through Provincetown on this golden, glorious google free day.
Other New England states are famous for their foliage ,while Olde Cape Cod has been going through a beautiful Autumn. Provincetown is surrounded by the National Seashore which has protected it from storms and has been its biggest draw since the first pilgrim dipped his toe in the bay on that fateful day. Amid the sandy dunes, coyote hollows and cranberry bogs sits one of the most magical places I know.
Beech Forest, just within the Cape Cod National Seashore Park on Race Point Road, is a very popular 1.5 mile loop travelled by local residents and visitors. The feel of a tranquil park attracts birders that flock here throuoghout the year. This past summer,I spied a pair of rather elusive Indigo Buntings, how did they end up here? This park serves as a gateway to the National Seashore Park, with free parking, miles of well paved bike trails, picnic tables and self-guided nature walks. Beautifully maintained,it remained open even as other parks were recently closed.

Of course Provincetown would not be Ptown without it’s Gay and Happy color as well. T’is the season to be Spooky, and Spooked! Hallowen has long been a New England tradition ,rumour has it that the jack-o-lantern was invented here. I am very glad to report,it is still going strong. Provincetown is aglow this week with spooky events, parties and just strolling down Commercial Street, you will never know who you might meet or what they are.

For something a bit more bone chilling and a reminder to pay attention to things that go B-u-M-P! in the night…you might take a moonlight stroll through one of our two historic cemeteries – one convieniently located on Cemetery Road and the other on Winthrop Street .Mother, Little Baby Mae or Mr.Norman Mailer may pop -up from where they sleep and give you a reason to quicken your step and have a hearty nip at the A-House amid all the local goblins and ghouls.
As those Autumn leaves of red and gold go past my window…once again my heart begins to leap, as the glowing moon casts its spell all around me.
And I know there is no place I would rather be on All Hallow’s Eve or for the rest of the golden days of Autumn than the place I call home. Craggy, Crooked and often Creepy Provincetown!
Bonne Chance, Sebastian
