What in the world around you inspires your work?
Light. Color. Sea. Sky. Water. The landscape of the outer cape. Shells, of course. Lichen. Other artists. I am hugely inspired by all of the artists at Four Eleven Gallery and the wonderful energy they bring to that space. The ability to channel some of the spirit of this universe into creative endeavor inspires me. Much of my work is my response to nature around me. I try to convey the sensation and feeling of the outer cape, as I see and feel them. Sometimes I am inspired by the microcosms that exist within a seashell. At other times it is the light reflecting on water, or the vastness of the sea and sky.

The ART of Living It on the Front Line of Life,for ALL the World to See and Laugh and LOVE was how The Hat Sisters of Ptown will both be remembered. Some people Got It and Make it Pay and these Ladies sure made Hay while the sun shined down upon the streets of this crooked Olde P-Towne …We all have a Hat Sisters Tale. Some of us may even have s a Hat or two stowed away in the hope chest of life’s BEST memories. My hat is off to you John as you head off to that BIG hat shop in the Sky…All the Love and Caring and Sharing you gave us is now wrapping up Tim and will carry him to you one day.
I will not say farewell to you John Michael Gray ….Just I’ll be seeing you in all the Olde Familiar Places until our paths cross again at that Parade in the Sky.

Recently while I was on a trip to Paris…I discovered much to my surprise and exhibition of American Paintings @ the Musee de la Chasse…how lucky I was to catch up with the prolific Artist Mark Beard while he was READYing some work for his first Provincetown Show!
The Provincetown Community Compact (The Compact) will memorialize the 49 Orlando victims at a special ceremony at Provincetown Town Hall on Tuesday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. Each person’s name will be inscribed on a black Prayer Ribbon, then read aloud and attached to the 2,800 Prayer Ribbons accumulated over 25 years at the annual Provincetown Swim for Life. An additional ribbon will be inscribed for those injured in the Orlando attack.
After the ceremony at Town Hall, the Prayer Ribbons will be carried in procession to the Provincetown Public Library front lawn to be displayed through Friday, September 9. They will then be installed at the Boatslip Beach Club deck for the Swim for Life on Saturday, September 10.
