Provincetown’s « Monumental » Yard Sale Highlights Week Filled with Bargains, Divas, Dinners and Galleries
Spoofs on Classic TV Shows Featured in « Let’s Make A Diva » Revue; Restaurants and Galleries Showcase America’s First Destination

An event that began 13 years ago as a small gathering for stores to liquidate last year’s merchandise has expanded to a town-wide sprawl where old clothes and bric-a-brac find themselves on display alongside outrageous finds, antiques, and the bizarre – all combined with terrific bargains on new merchandise.
This truly monumental sale, set for May 17-19, coincides with a packed weekend of fun, dining, art, and charity in Provincetown during its annual Restaurant Week and Gallery Walk. Restaurant Week features 22 local favorites this year, each offering a $25 and/or $35 three-course prix-fixe meal from May 17 through May 22. This year’s Gallery Stroll will see 20 galleries open their doors from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 17.
The weekend peaks on May 18 with the « Let’s Make a Diva » revue. Last year’s show, Twisted Fairy Tales, drew rave revues. This year’s « Let’s Make a Diva » will again be filled with songs, laughs, spoofs and riffs featuring famous shows and tunes such as « Gilligan’s Island » and « Three’s Company. » Proceeds and donations go to Miracle Providers Northeast, a group devoted to improving the lives of impoverished children and families affected by HIV and AIDS.
Ptown’s Monumental Yard Sale, free to the public, is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and the Provincetown Business Guild and enjoys such high public demand that It appears twice a year, once during the Spring and once in the Fall.
